Professor Ma Xiongfeng's research group is dedicated to cutting-edge research in quantum information science, with primary focuses including:

1. Quantum Cryptography and Communication: Quantum key distribution, quantum random numbers, quantum networks, and quantum attacks.

2. Quantum Benchmarking and Verification: Randomized benchmarking and (semi) device-independent quantum information processing.

3. Foundations of Quantum Theory: Fundamental issues such as entanglement, coherence, and nonlocality.

4. Quantum Computing: Core technologies like variational quantum algorithms and quantum error correction codes.

The team has achieved numerous internationally leading results both in theoretical and experimental aspects. We look forward to collaborating with students, faculty members, and partners who are interested in these areas to explore the future of quantum information.

The group's mentor, Professor Ma Xiongfeng, has published a total of 129 journal papers, 36 patents, and 17 conference papers. Among these are 1 paper in Reviews of Modern Physics, 21 in Physical Review Letters, 5 in Physical Review X, 2 in Nature, 1 in Nature Photonics, 1 in Nature Communications, 2 in Optica, and 2 in PNAS.

His representative works include the pioneering phase-matching quantum key distribution protocol and the mode-pairing quantum key distribution protocol, both of which have achieved international leading levels in terms of security and rate.
